Terms & Conditions

AB Coastal Property Maintenance Ltd. · Version 2026-10-22 · Last updated: October 22, 2026

1. About these terms

These terms apply to every booking, quote, service and payment with AB Coastal Property Maintenance Ltd. ("AB Coastal", "we", "us") and to your use of abcoastal.ca and the client portal. By booking, approving a quote, signing a Service Agreement, accepting an invoice or letting us start work, you agree to these terms, including the cancellation terms and late payment interest below. For a specific job, you also receive a written quote and a Service Agreement. If a Service Agreement you signed disagrees with these terms, the Service Agreement comes first.

If you are an individual using our services for personal or household purposes, nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under British Columbia consumer protection law.

2. Bookings & quotes

A booking request on abcoastal.ca is a request for service. It is not a confirmed appointment until we confirm the scope, price and time with you.

  • Quotes are based on what we were told and shown. A quote is priced on the information, photos and measurements you gave us and on what we saw. It is valid for the period written on it, normally 30 days.
  • A quote is not a booking until you approve it. You approve a quote by signing the Service Agreement that comes with it. Until then we do not hold a date or order materials.
  • If the job is different from how it was described, for example in size, condition or access, we may update the price. We always tell you first and nothing extra is done without your approval.

3. Written agreements & e-signing

We send each quote with a Service Agreement that lists the work, what is not included, the price and GST, the deposit, the payment terms and the expected timing. You can read it and sign it online from your phone or computer, or in person. Your typed or drawn signature is your signature, and a signed electronic copy is as binding as a paper one.

When you sign, we record the date and time, your device and a fingerprint of the exact agreement you signed, and we keep a signed copy on your file. You can ask us for a copy at any time. You agree that we can send quotes, agreements, invoices, receipts and notices about your work by email, text message or the client portal.

4. Deposits & payment

  • Deposits. We may ask for a deposit before we book your date. The deposit reserves your date and covers materials and scheduling, and it is taken off your final invoice.
  • Invoices. Payment terms are on each invoice. You can view and pay invoices securely online, without an account, through the link in your invoice email or in the client portal. Card payments are processed by our secure payment provider; we never see your full card number. We accept card, e-transfer, cheque and cash.
  • GST. Prices are before 5% GST (GST # 743095150RT0001), which is added to the invoice unless it says otherwise.
  • Payment plans. If we agree in writing to split a payment into instalments, each instalment is due on the date shown on the invoice.
  • Late payment interest. You agree that an invoice more than 7 days overdue bears interest at 1.5% per month (18% per year), calculated daily on the unpaid amount before GST, not compounded, from the due date until it is paid. The rate and the number of days are also stated in your Service Agreement. We may waive interest, and it is added only by showing it on your invoice.
  • Overdue accounts. We may pause the work and any future scheduled visits until the account is up to date. You are responsible for the reasonable cost of collecting an overdue amount, to the extent the law allows.
  • Refunds. If we cancel the work or you are entitled to a refund, we refund to the original payment method.

5. Cancelling & rescheduling

Plans change, and we understand. We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a confirmed appointment, by phone, text or email.

  • With enough notice, we refund your deposit, except for costs we have already paid and cannot recover, such as materials or special orders for your job.
  • With less notice, or if our crew cannot get in at the booked time, we may charge a fee of up to $75 for the crew's time and travel. For larger jobs we may also keep part of the deposit, up to our actual and reasonable losses.
  • If we cancel or reschedule for safety, weather or illness, we move your date or refund any deposit not yet used.
  • Nothing here limits any cancellation or refund right you have under British Columbia consumer protection law.

6. Access & your responsibilities

To do the work safely and on time, please make sure that:

  • our crew can reach the work area and enter the property at the booked time, or you have told us how to get in;
  • water and power are available if the work needs them;
  • pets are secured, and vehicles, valuables and fragile items are moved out of the way;
  • you have told us about anything that could affect the work or our safety, such as lead paint, asbestos, mould, underground lines, irrigation, loose or rotten material, or earlier damage;
  • you are the owner, or you have the owner's permission, and you have any permits, strata approvals or landlord consents that are needed, unless we agreed in writing to get them.

7. Changes & hidden conditions

Any change to the work, such as more work, different materials or something you ask for on site, must be agreed in writing before we do it. Text, email or approval in your portal counts as writing. A change can add to the price and the time.

If we find something hidden or unexpected once work starts, for example rot, damage, moisture, an unsafe structure or a code problem, we stop that part, show you, and give you the options and the extra cost. We do not continue that part until you approve it in writing.

8. Results, workmanship & concerns

  • We stand behind our work. If something isn't right after cleaning or washing work, tell us within 48 hours. For repairs, building and painting work, tell us within 12 months. Please send photos and a short description, and let us come back to look at it before anyone else changes it.
  • How we make it right. If we agree it is our responsibility, we fix it at no charge or refund the part of the price for the affected work. That is our full responsibility for the quality of the work.
  • Results depend on the surface. Some stains, etching, fading, rust and old damage cannot be fully removed or hidden, and cleaning, washing or sanding can reveal damage that was already there. We tell you before we start if we expect a limit.
  • What is not covered: normal wear, weather, misuse, lack of maintenance, problems that were already there, other people's work, and materials with a manufacturer's defect (the manufacturer's warranty applies to those).

To raise a concern, call (604) 360-5372 or email [email protected].

9. Damage & liability

We take reasonable care of your property and carry commercial general liability insurance. If you think we caused damage, tell us within 48 hours with photos so we can see it before it is changed or repaired.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss (for example lost income, loss of use or extra living costs), and our total responsibility for any claim connected with a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. This does not limit anything the law does not allow us to limit, and it does not limit your rights as a consumer under British Columbia law.

10. Photos & property information

Photos and property details you share during booking are used to assess and quote the job, and to plan the work. We may take photos of the property before, during and after the work for our records, quality checks and any claim. We use before-and-after photos of our completed work in our marketing only with your permission, and we leave out faces, house numbers and licence plates.

11. Referral Program

Our referral program is coming soon. Its terms will be published here before it starts. Until then, telling us who referred you when you book is simply a way for us to say thank you.

12. Rewards

Our client rewards program is coming soon. Its terms will be published here before it starts.

13. Messages from us

We send you messages about your work, such as quotes, agreements, visit reminders, invoices and receipts, because they are part of the service. We send promotional emails or texts only if you agreed to receive them, or as the law otherwise allows, and every promotional message has a working unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time and we will still send the messages we need to send about your work.

14. Privacy

How we collect, use, share and protect your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. In short: we use your information to quote, schedule, do and bill the work, we never sell it, and you can ask to see or correct it. To ask about or remove your information, contact [email protected].

15. This website

The content on abcoastal.ca, including text, photos, logos and designs, belongs to AB Coastal or is used with permission. Please do not copy it, or use our name or logo, without our written permission. We work to keep the website accurate but do not promise it is always error-free or available. Prices and offers shown on the website are examples until confirmed in a written quote. Do not use the website or the portal to attempt to break into, disrupt or misuse our systems.

16. Disagreements & governing law

We would rather fix a problem than argue about it. Please tell us in writing what the problem is and what you would like us to do, and give us a fair chance to put it right. If we still cannot agree, either of us can use mediation or the British Columbia courts, including Small Claims Court for smaller amounts. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version number and date at the top of this page show which version applies. A job is covered by the version in effect when you approved your quote, together with the Service Agreement you signed. If a part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies.
